Braves lost 3-0 to the Red Sox [Boxscore]. The game was a great pitching matchup between Lowe and Beckett and it did not disappoint. Beckett pitched a complete game shutout and got the best of the Braves. The game was over in 2 hours and 15 minutes. We had great seats, (Section 34 Row 9) directly behind the pitcher and pretty close to the center field cameras. I had a great time with Josh and Tom and look forward to encore appearances someday in the future. Here’s a few shots I took during the game and sent to my twitter. But I’ll share here too :)
so yeah.. going to FENWAY PAAAAAK for the second time this summer, first time to see a game… looking forward to it… the Red Sox will play the original team from Boston… the Beaneaters.. .in all there glory.. .Derek Lowe on the mound.. Chipper at Third.. McCann.. and the rest of the guys.. hey, watch your mcLouth.. Red sox have Beckett on the mound.. Not expecting a win.. but that would be sweet.. anyway!… go Braves!! looking forward to it.. look for “tweets” during the game.. of the action and all that.. shit.

Was a pretty decent time. The sound stunk from the side though. I’ve got a few clips from the side so if/when I thought/toss those up you’ll see what I mean. A totally mixed crowd. Lots of young people. A few older people. Everywhere but the crowded spot in front of the stage, where I was, people were sitting in chairs. What’s up with that? All that talk about the heightened cop presence and “testing” your drink with an alcohol sniffer amounted to jack nothing from what I could tell. Then again, I wasn’t drinking or near any areas where people were getting out of control. It was packed. I’m thinking that the rest of the Alive at Fives won’t be nearly as crowded as that one. It was the first one of the summer and probably the biggest name on the list. Who knows, we’ll see.
Awesome show. Nothing Spacey Jammed out or anything.. Mike at the end of YEM great shit. Disease was considerably shorter and tighter. Bathtub Gin and Bowie were the mothers milk as well. good shit there. the new songs were good. TTE is a little long and i heard it off myspace/bso show… so knew what to semi expect there.. iiwii.. anyway, Tweezer into Light was Awesome. 3 song encore was nice, even though im semi-over hearing GTBT, feel like it follows me… My buddy back home plays Curtis Lowe on acoustic so was pumped to hear that, and sent him a txt.. It was all about the Second Set to me.. first set was good.. but the whole thing felt like an afternoon show separate from an evening/night show.. Loved the spot in Sample in the Jar when it was realized completely that the rain/clouds were leaving (it downpour’d right before the Anthem/Play Ball and many people missed it entirely–it was still raining when they sung that actually)… so after that, and during Sample especially.. the sky opened up and it was on from then on out… Our seats were fantastic.. at a baseball game it would have been 7 rows from the bottom, closer to pesky pole than first base.. fishman/mike side.. but basically dead on.. i have a few decent pics that im working on getting up… awesome awesome show..

Before this blog becomes a complete dumping ground of archived tweets….. Trip Number 1 of 3 to Boston is this weekend. So excited. Rolling in with Bobby Jones on Saturday. Staying with Colleen in Cambridge. Hitting up Harvard Square Saturday Night. Then we’ll be joined by Tommy S as we make our way to Fenway Park to hit up some Phish action…. and next weekend I go back to Boston for more! Let’s do it. June is a crazy month for me with 3 scheduled trips to Boston plus two other local adventures in between. So let’s knock it our and get it started. I’m ready. I’m amped.
Braves scored 5 unearned runs last night to win the game. Lowe out pitches Santana even though Santana still didn’t earn any runs against. I still think Lowe was taken out early. Thank you Jose Reyes for booting a easy out to keep the Braves inning alive. Thank you to Manuel for leaving Feliciano in the game to face Diaz. Thank you Diaz and Kotchman for bringing in those 4 runs. And kudos to the bullpen for not blowing it. Braves snap Mets 7 game win streak. 2 more games in the series. Tonight and tomorrow afternoon. Good stuff. Baseball is good. Even better when the Braves put together a few wins in a row. They’ve won 5 out of their last 6. All against division opponents. Way to be.
