I know I’ve admitted about 10 times now that I’ve given up hope, but the honest to jones truth is I haven’t. There’s still lots of time (okay some) left and plenty of bad teams to beat.

    Where are the Met’s?..oh right!

All joking aside, isn’t it pathetic that so many teams under .500 are still in the wild card race, Braves included

    Team W L PCT GB
    NY Mets 81 49 .623 – Philadelphia 66 65 .504 15.5
    Florida 65 66 .496 16.5
    Atlanta 62 68 .477 19.0
    Washington 55 76 .420 26.5

damn, the Braves are only 4 games out right now… and yeah, i couldnt agree more about the .500 comment. from your end, id still be worried about my starting pitching.. and seriously whats up with David Wright—he has been slumping for a long time now

Apparently you have not seen David Wright the last two nights. Last night he had 5 RBI’s before the 2nd inning ended….I’m not worried about David Wright.

As for the pitching, you must be kidding yourself. Look what Maine and Williams have been doing, meanwhile our big guys Pedro and Glavine (I know you’ve heard of him) will be fresh when it counts. This should be a good experience for Galvine, I mean he’s use to getting to the post season, but he’s grown accustom to going home early….

The only team I would be worried about in the NL in a short series would be Houston, and it does not look like they’ll be there..so METS, METS, METS

Well son, the run is almost officially over. Magic number stands at 16, and it’s still August. Don’t worry, I’ll be here to rub your face in it when it becomes official. Have a great day!

I’m just specifically referring to his stats from the past 30 days, last night included
    David Wright – 1 hr 20rbi .237avg

eh—the streak was officially over IMO about two months ago.

and even though i’ve given up my playoff hopes about 4 times already, i can’t help but not give up again if we’re about to go on a run

oh and as far as you notifying me when the streak is officially over, go for it.. I’m sure theres several dozen mets fans doing the exact same thing.. bet you’re all counting the days and maximizing the historical significance of this amazing achievement

stop living in the past…no historical significanes, other than one of the biggest annual chokers in the history of the post season.

I just want to rub your nose in it
