I’m aware of the issue I’m having and will hopefully have an answer from my webhost soon.
Other than that I am going away for the weekend… so you’re on your own.
Today’s album recommendation to you comes to us from Blind Melon. Below the cover art is a short description from the wiki. All you need to know is that it’s very good, and if you haven’t heard it yet… You should check it out! I will be re-listening to the album this afternoon.

From all your friends at work!
Today I am listening to this disc for the first time…

Live at Radio City is a live album and video by Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds. This was the first live acoustic release by Matthews and Reynolds since their first album, Live at Luther College, released in 1999.
The tracks were recorded at a live acoustic rock concert at Radio City Music Hall in New York City on April 22, 2007. The 26-song set features 12 songs from Dave Matthews Band albums and six songs from Dave Matthews’ Some Devil album. The other songs in the set include various unreleased and cover songs. Matthews and Reynolds played the entire set together, with the exception of two solos by Reynolds—”Betrayal” and “You Are My Sanity”—and one solo performance by Matthews—”Some Devil.” This is the first time Matthews has played piano at a show, and he also plays a small piece of The Beatles’ “Blackbird” before “Out of My Hands”.

Kazmir Ibanez Lincecum, a few others were all pick ups..

Alright, so we were going to do another hike today but at 6AM we decided that we need a day to actually catch up on sleep. We haven’t had a day like that in weeks, many weeks it seems.. so we will still hike sleeping beauty, it just won’t be today.
Okay, so recent history has gone better when I don’t post about this… but… I still have a tiny glimmer of hope left in the season. Mets are streaking downward and we start a big series with the Brewers tonight. Let’s go Braves! Kick it up a notch!

A short while ago in a not too far away land lived a barcode with many hands. A barcode unafriad to tell secrets but keen to thoughtless provacation. A barcode unlike no other but alike many others. This barcode lived a happy life always passing with high ANSI standard quality. Til one day along came a shadow and reverted the barcode back to the dark ages. The barcode was not pleased yet now had to find a new way to live with his ghost. The analysts prayed and the supervisors strayed away from this barcode til Kyle and his men with merry young hats deciphered its prey and determined its fate. Then Justus with his swinging bat flew down the trapezee door and onto the barcodes path. The barcode smiled with a jeer and let out all his fears. Tiny did the barcode seem, yet large did the problem involve. Rejected was the review and the state did declare. Barcodes we are not aware, shadows and ghosts must exist in this place. The barcode without a face hallowed into this place with a ghost behind his mask. Run and hide form the ghost barcode. Run and scream and shout at children who are not aware of the history of the barcode. Scan young wizard and read my barcodes existence. Range in all your defects and let them reign supremeless. Hide young barcode, hide and cry and seek a new life. Go and be returned to your keeper Kyle and let him give you life from under the pile. Let him remove your mask. Let him remove your shadow. Til one day the barcode may live without its ghost and exist in a perfect scan.
Upon further review today is International Talk Like a Pirate Day.
International Talk Like a Pirate Day (ITLAPD) is a parodic holiday invented in 1995 by John Baur (“Ol’ Chumbucket”) and Mark Summers (“Cap’n Slappy”), of the United States, who proclaimed September 19 each year as the day when everyone in the world should talk like a pirate. For example, an observer of this holiday would greet friends not with “Hello”, but with “Ahoy, me hearty!” The date was selected because it was the birthday of Summers’s ex-wife and consequently would be easy for him to remember.

This morning I will be listening to The Crane Wife by The Decemberists. It’s one of my newlyish favorite albums.. I’ve already gotten to the end of it and I think I will just listen to it on repeat until further notice for the day.

The Crane Wife is an album by The Decemberists, released in 2006. It was produced by Tucker Martine and Chris Walla, and is the band’s first album on the Capitol Records label. The album was inspired by a Japanese folk tale, and centers on two song cycles, The Crane Wife and The Island, the latter of which was inspired by William Shakespeare’s The Tempest. National Public Radio listeners voted The Crane Wife the best album of 2006.

The Crane Wife is an old Japanese tale. While there are many variations of the tale, a common version is that a poor man finds an injured crane on his doorstep (or outside with an arrow in it), takes it in and nurses it back to health. After he releases the crane, a woman appears at his doorstep with whom he falls in love and marries. Because they need money, his wife offers to weave wondrous clothes out of silk that they can sell at the market, but only if he agrees never to watch her making them. They begin to sell them and live a comfortable life, but he soon makes her weave them more and more. Oblivious to his wife’s diminishing health, his greed increases. He eventually peeks in to see what she is doing to make the silk she weaves so desirable. He is shocked to discover that at the loom is a crane plucking feathers from her own body and weaving them into the loom. The crane, seeing him, flies away and never returns.
Band leader Colin Meloy found a version of this story and decided to write music based on it.
So, besides working and enjoying the married life, I feel that I’ve spent my entire summer with the Donatos from Big Brother 8. After an extremely long summer they were able to stand together until today, the final day of Big Brother 8. They’ve accomplished this feat against all odds. They had no clue they’d be in the house together. At times it was very tough for them on a personal level. Dick was well Evel, and Danielle was well a whiney brat. Danielle had barely talked to her dad Dick for 5 out of the previous 7 years. The majority of the house hated the both of them, yet they were unable to get either of them out. The Donatos dominated competitions they needed to win and finessed people at the right time when it was needed. True, I don’t agree with many of the things Dick did in the house. He was flat out mean at times. I wouldn’t play that way. If I had played with someone like that, I’m sure that none of his actions would have bothered me. I would have found it kinda funny I think. Then again who knows, I can say that easily from the outside. Despite the fact that these two have made it to the final 2 and how much the general public and other big brotherologists probably do not appreciate that, I am happy for them. The two of them made for great TV at times and deserve the cash. I can’t say for sure which one I think will win. If I had to guess, I’d think Danielle will get the votes cause the jury house hates Dick but who knows…. The finale is tonight on CBS at 9pm and after that, that’s that. It will be very interesting to see how the houseguests react to Eric playing for America. Next year will mark a new year. I am still a few years away from desiring to apply. Til next year….
so i’ve finally gone through the tracks (i had the whole thing recorded)... I slapped the music together about a week before the wedding and gave my buddy a dvd’s worth of music (19 hours) with some of the songs in a special request folder—turned out being that these request folders basically took up the entire time we had—so I know i did my part pretty hastily.. he added a few tracks here and there to the overal mix, and i basically gave him free reign on how he was going to order the music…...and at the end he did his turntable thing for 2 hours so that was cool too, but im not going to even try and figure out how much stuff he sampled…. either way, if anyone is interested here is the complete playlist from our wedding this past july.. there was only a few songs from the pre-ceremony disc I weren’t sure on the song titles…. if anyone is interested in having a copy of any of these tracks (each disc is a track) let me know and I will upload it… his DJ mix’s at the end are freakin cool too
