Friday’s morning commute will usher in a nasty bout of winter weather. That’s when a storm bringing snow, sleet and rain will hit the region, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Evan Heller.
Heller said the low pressure area is moving into this region from Texas and will bring one-tenth of an inch of ice as well.
Highs will be in the mid-30s, Heller said. The precipitation will switch to sleet by the evening, making for another messy commute.
There is a chance of snow sometime after midnight Friday, she said.

SCHOHARIE VALLEY…WESTERN SCHENECTADY…WESTERN ALBANY…AND
WESTERN GREENE COUNTIES.
A LOW PRESSURE SYSTEM ORIGINATING OVER THE DEEP SOUTH WILL MOVE
NORTHEAST INTO THE OHIO VALLEY BY FRIDAY MORNING…THEN WILL
TRACK EASTWARD ACROSS NEW YORK STATE FRIDAY AFTERNOON AND
EVENING. A COLD AIRMASS WILL BE IN PLACE ACROSS THE AREA AS THE
STORM APPROACHES AND WARMER AIR WILL MOVE IN ALOFT SETTING THE
STAGE FOR A WINTRY MIX OF PRECIPITATION.
SNOW WILL OVERSPREAD THE AREA FRIDAY MORNING THEN WARMER AIR WILL
MOVE IN ALOFT DURING THE AFTERNOON ALLOWING THE SNOW TO MIX WITH

SLEET AND FREEZING RAIN ARE EXPECTED TO CHANGE OVER TO PLAIN RAIN

This morning’s commute will be a tricky one, with a return of nasty winter weather.
A storm is expected to bring snow, sleet and rain to the region through the day, National Weather Service meteorologist Evan Heller says.
Heller said the low pressure area is moving into this region from Texas and will bring one-tenth of an inch of ice as well.
The forecast calls for periods of snow and sleet, beginning this morning and coming mainly between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., then periods of sleet between 1 p.m. and 3 p.m., followed by freezing rain and sleet between 3 p.m. and 4 p.m.. Snow, rain and sleet should mark the beginnings of rush hour after 4 p.m. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow and sleet accumulation of around an inch possible.
Tonight will see rain and sleet before 1 a.m., then a chance of snow showers between 1 a.m. and 4 a.m. Low around 30. Chance of precipitation is 100 percent. New snow and sleet accumulation of less than a half inch possible, the forecast says.
I just assumed this weather is that of Atlanta Braves Fans tears freezing as it hits the air.

the ice from that day killed 1 person… and NO JOB IS WORTH RISKING LIFE to go to.. if you disagree, then bless your employers
what about the job of the EMT who tried to save that persons life? i think that job is worth risking nearly everything…
i wont discount there are certain jobs you have to get in for… but.. okay.. what? mostly all medical related? what else is life or death.. mail delivery isnt, but you can go ahead and add that to the list.. maybe even some sort of day care person..
