San Francisco Day 5

November 19th, 2008

A reprise of a few activities while we attempted to kill all afternoon before our airport shuttle left. We took the cable car back to the Fisherman’s Wharf but this time spent some time actually walking around on the Wharf. We really wanted to see more sea lions and we had great success at Pier 39.

Cova Hotel Roof
Powell Street Cable Cars
Fisherman’s Wharf
Sea Lions on Pier 39

Thanks San Francisco for having us. Next time we won’t stay in the Tenderloin. I’ve seen enough crack deals and prostitution solicitation. We’ll also skip the red eye and take a mid afternoon flight back. That flight was uncomfortable to say the least. All in all, the trip was fantastic and we were super glad to have done it. See ya next time.

San Francisco Day 4

November 18th, 2008

Day 4. Another 5.5 miles of walking and a lovely trip to Alcatraz. More harassment by bums and another trip to Lorries. Our legs are about to fall off (no, we didn’t do any preparation for all this walking, oh well).. We check out after breakfast and then have to kill 7 hours before getting the shuttle to the airport tomorrow. We’re planning to take it easy, probably hit up Yerba Gardens or something.

Day 4 highlights:

Union Square
Chinatown
Financial District
The Ferry Building
Bay Bridge
Alcatraz
Golden Gate Bridge
and more!

It has been awesome to see all the sites and cram all of this in but next vacation we take we are totally going to a resort somewhere, kicking up our feet, and just sitting on the beach all day and all night.

San Francisco Day 3

November 17th, 2008

So even though we were looking forward to driving around, we still managed to get in another 5 miles of walking/hiking/climing. Good Stuff. We hit Lori’s for breakfast around 730am and got the car around 8. We made great time all day and still managed to have plenty of time for photo shooting. All in all, 123 miles were covered! Sorry I couldn’t send any pics to the blog from Muir Woods and Point Reyes (didn’t have any service!).

Today we did:

Golden Gate Bridge
Vista Point/Horeshoe Bay
Marin County
Sausilito
Muir Woods National Monument (Redwoods Forest)
Fern Creek & Camp Eastwood
Muir Beach Overlook
Shoreline Highway
Stinson Beach
Point Reyes National Seashore
Sir Francis Drake Boulevard
The Lighthouse on Point Reyes

Tomorrow we’ll take it easy for the most part. The only thing completely on the agenda is our Sunset/Night Tour of the lovely Alcatraz Island.
