Just a couple of quick reminder for all of you people who haven’t been paying attention to the tremendous offseason the Atlanta Falcons and their owner Mr Arthur Blank are about to put on which will include signing Warren Sapp and Terrell Owens (if not, some people very formatable) but the all owner changes that have already happened and began to happen with less than two weeks in the season to go when Rich McKay was brought on board. I’ve told you about Rich, the new GM and I’ve told you about Jim, the new coach… but take a load of these key new people who are on board.
Rich McKay General Manager from Tampa Bay
Tim Ruskell Assistant General Manager from Tampa Bay
Jim Mora Head Coach from San Francisco
Greg Knapp Offensive Coordinator from San Francisco
Ed Donatell Defensive Coordinator from Green Bay
Alex Gibbs Offensive Line Coach from Denver Broncos
Alex Gibbs, the longtime Denver Broncos offensive line coach who established the blocking schemes behind one of the league’s best and most consistent running attacks, has reached agreement to join the Atlanta Falcons as their offensive line coach, ESPN’s Chris Mortensen reported Sunday.
Donatell, 46, was the Packers’ coordinator for the past four seasons. He was fired last week, just days after the team’s loss at Philadelphia in the divisional round. Donatell is a 14-year veteran, serving on staffs with the New York Jets (1990-94) and Denver Broncos (1995-99), before being named the Green Bay coordinator in 2000.
This staff is insane!! The Falcons organization is awesome. Watch out next year.
Jim Mora Jr is the new head coach of the Atlanta Falcons. Greg Knapp has also come on board to be the offensive coordinator. Both of them coming over from the 49ers.
“We’re going to devise the best system to get the ball in the hands of our playmakers,” Mora said. “We’ll be an aggressive, attacking, push-the-ball-down-the-field type of team.
“Michael Vick is one of the most exciting players in the NFL, and this system will allow Michael Vick to excel.”
The Atlanta Falcons have announced a 2 pm press conference to announce the hire of their next head coach.
All signs point to Jim Mora Jr receiving the job.

Dick Sullivan, who oversees all the team’s marketing efforts, said earlier this year that NFL marketing research showed the Falcons to rank No. 1 among football fans ages 18-25.
I’d like to officially announce my candidacy to you as the future Atlanta Falcons Head Coach. I feel that I am fully qualified for the job. I know a lot about football and believe I have a great understanding of how the team should be built to usher in the new and exciting phase of Falcon football. I have used my playbook in several real-game situations and it has proved to be successful each time. I have some great things in mind to further Michael Vick’s ability and improve upon his already impressive base set of skills. I respect the job that Dan Reeves has done to get the team to the level that it has come to and I have several ideas on how to proceed from here. I can’t disclose all of these ideas, here, in this medium because I am afraid that potential competitiors Nick Saban and Lovie Smith could capitalize on my ideas and take advantage of their public knowledge. Trust me, they are not public knowledge. I have it all planned out. It’s certain to be successfull. Again, I have spent many years watching football at the high school, college, and professional level. Please contact me to talk about specifics regarding when I can come for an interview. I am the right man for the job.
