Around the Pork in 30 Days

Check out my friend Scott is nearing the end of his quest. With only 2 more days to go, check out his progress so far.

His goal was to eat a meal with Pork every day for an entire month including a different pork product and potential a dish from every major region of the globe. Check out his flickr, there's a picture of each meal he's made including descriptions on its lineage and inspiration for choosing said dishes.

He's been updating us daily on the message board, and we're entertained thoroughly, but also looking forward to his completion.

Here is his flickr set > Around The Pork In 30 Days

Burnt Tongue

Ouch. still hurts. Yesterday I drank some hot chai tea, yah well.. it was a little too hot still... so anyway, my tongue still hurts and mostly its affecting the taste and consumption of my coffee today which annoys me... at least the unexciting PBJ for lunch shouldn't be too interrupted.

The Ultimate Party Favor Appetizer Sandwich

Finally we have good creamer again for the coffee. Whatever kind we had last was horrible... and before I forget I will advise you now to taste the following combination sandwich, all of which I did taste last Saturday night at the Nathaniels:

Directions: Take all these items and put them together to form the ultimate party favor appetizer sandwich -
2 types of cracker (white/wheat)
2 types of cheese (cheddar, and that white and yellow one)
2 types of dip (french onion chip dip, and veggie dip)
1 slice of cucumber
1 piece of broccoli
1 piece of carrot
1 dorito chip
1 wavy regular potato chip
a pretzel
a couple m&m's
a piece of a crunch bar
and a junior mint.

put all these items together, it took me two hands in order for it all to fit, and eat. the combinations are actually pretty good. i was impressed.

so basically the rules are pretty simple. if you are at a party and there are all these chips and other munchies available to munch, why not mix them all together to form the ultimate snack. go now, i empower you to make this choice, report back on any interesting findings.

Sara, Happy 1 Month Anniversary!

Sara you rule. Sorry I got you sick. Let's go to Social Security and wait in line for a half hour so we can "officially" change our names! Woohoo! Then after that, Let's stop at Pa's Pizza and Deli in Clarksville on the way home and wait another half hour for 3 people to make 2 subs! Woohoo! Let's do it.. And then to cap it off, let's celebrate Barry Bonds' 756th home run as he breaks the all time record for home runs. But first, let's beat this cold.

Whats for Dinner?

So now that Sara is all up in the Manistee searching for Martens for 10 days on 4 days off, I'm left to fend for myself. It's like the old days. And let me be the first to say, it is not much fun to fend for yourself. Granted it sucks when we still have to figure it out together but usually something manifests itself. The one good thing about cooking a full meal for yourself is if you cook enough you can eat the leftovers the next day. I don't mind doing that unless whatever was cooked turned out crappy. For example, the other night I cooked chicken and rice and had salad. I didn't finish the chicken but I ate an entire bag of cesar salad. It was good. Last night I reheated the chicken and rice and was sufficently pleased. I may have to go grocery shopping because there is some holes in our fridge. We do however have a freezer full of deer meat which is a good thing. I had an omelette for dinner and now am trying to deal with the gas after effects. There is no bottom line to this post. I just need to get some new shit out here per request. Apparently some people actually come to this site. So, I guess I should find some way to entertain them. More bullshit posting has been declared.

Can I live while I’m young?

Okay so a while back I asked for some topics to discuss and you basically gave me the following; taste buds, diet pepsi, york peppermint patties, and porno (thanks bob jones) and grant and ben for these lovely ever so interesting topics.

When I was younger, in my older days, we used to sit around telling stories of the days of old. We'd bite, we'd chew, and we'd swallow. The moment I discovered the wondefully uplifting fruity taste of one of those smelly york peppermint patties my first reaction was spew. And my second reaction was also upchuck. But that's not a pleasant way to recap my discovery so I'll put a sugar coating on the outside of this wrap. Fresh. Like mentos, only cheaper. But theres chocolate so thats good in my book. My taste buds froze with excitement but buried themselves in pity and shame. 85 cents later (inflated to today's prices) I felt used, abused, and for lack of a better description, violated. The turkey was dead, but what could I do?

Bob Jones showed up in my mind (much like the devil does, and this was before I even knew what or who Bob Jones was) and told me that first off, I needed more, and second off, I should wash that down with some Diet Pepsi. Although, maybe I was watching TV at the time, I'm not sure. Can I live while I'm young? What's this taste of a new generation. Are you sure? I'm not. What generation? Generation Multi-Task! So anyway, I bought some Diet Pepsi for the grand total of a buck thirty four and looked in my pocket and realized I only had 30 cents left. I drank the POP and found my taste buds dulled by my moronic necessity to spend money wastefully on this junk. Pop good, soda okay, cola alright. What is it now that I taste?
