NFL Playoff 2009-10 PickSheet
For the record, I'm rooting for the Eagles and my preseason pick was Chargers over Eagles in the Super Bowl, but I think the Cowboys have just been real good lately........ but, here's my pick sheet.
Ravens, Bengals, Cowboys, Packers
Colts, Chargers, Packers, Vikings
Chargers, Vikings
Chargers
NFL Week 7 2009
Week 7
Sun, Oct 25 Stadium Time (ET)
IND @ STL Edward Jones Dome 1:00 PM
Colts roll in this one. Manning gets back on track with another 300 yard 3 td+ game. Wayne, Collie, and Clark all find the end zone. Colts win big but not as big as they could have 31-13.
NE @ TB Wembley Stadium 1:00 PM
Patriots and Bucs travel to London for this years Wembley Stadium game. Tom Brady loses his luggage but it makes absolutely no difference as the Patriots roll again. Bucs try three different guys at quarterback this weekend. None of them make a difference. Pats win 43-10.
MIN @ PIT Heinz Field 1:00 PM
This looks like a pretty good matchup as the game of the week. Polomalu is back. I think the Steelers could pull this one out and give the Vikings their first loss of the season. Lock and load it. Steelers win 31-27.
SD @ KC Arrowhead Stadium 1:00 PM
Chargers bounce back against tough loss on Monday night to find a Chiefs team just off their first win. Sproles will be the difference in this game. Chargers win 27-17.
GB @ CLE Cleveland Browns Stadium 1:00 PM
Packers travel to the Dawg Pound to face a Cleveland team that wants to get better. Cribbs gets a few more touches. Rodgers has a good game passing. Packers win 31-17.
SF @ HOU Reliant Stadium 1:00 PM
This is almost a statement game. Do we take either of these teams serious? I think this game could go a long way towards taking either of these two serious. Crabtree makes his debut for the Niners this week, but we're not sold it will make a difference. Matt Schaub has another good game. Texans win 28-24.
BUF @ CAR Bank of America Stadium 4:05 PM
Bills travel to Carolina and show us who we thought the Panthers were. Looks like Trent Edwards is out, so the Bills technically could have a shot. Both teams aren't great but the Panthers do enough to make the difference. Panthers win 21-16.
NYJ @ OAK Oakland Coliseum 4:05 PM
Jets travel to the left coast to attempt to bounce back after a couple tough loses. Playing the Raiders is exactly what the doctor ordered. However, I'm almost tempted to pick the Raiders. I don't think I can though. Jets win 28-10.
ATL @ DAL Cowboys Stadium 4:15 PM
Falcons travel to Dallas and get some big screen exposure. Looks like this game will even be on TV locally. Yay! Romo gets made to look like a fool. Matt Ryan has another good game. Turner does his part and reaches the end zone twice. Falcons win 38-13.
NO @ MIA Land Shark Stadium 4:15 PM
Saints face an improving Dolphins team. Brees is unable to be contained. Saints stop the wildcat. Saints win 34-21.
CHI @ CIN Paul Brown Stadium 4:15 PM
Normally I would pick the Bears to win this matchup. But this year's Bengals team looks better than in the immediate years past. Palmer is healthy and has lots of targets. Benson is inspired to run nuts over his former team. Cutler struggles in the red zone again. Bengals win 28-24.
ARI @ NYG Giants Stadium 8:20 PM
Giants bounce back against Cardinals after losing last week. Eli does his part. Warner and Fitzgerald are caught arguing to each other late in the third quarter. Giants take advantage and win 34-24.
Mon, Oct 26 Stadium Time (ET)
PHI @ WAS FedEx Field 8:30 PM
Can the Redskins beat the Eagles? No. Eagles win big 35-10.
NFL Week 6 2009
Cool, let's dive right into this.
Week 6
Sun, Oct 18 Stadium Time (ET)
STL @ JAC Jacksonville Municipal Stadium 1:00 PM
Jaguars rebound after dreadful game against Seahawks. Rams continue to look awful. MJD gets plenty of touches after complaining about the Jags offense this week. It pays off. Jags win 30-13.
KC @ WAS FedEx Field 1:00 PM
Ah, this weeks first "can I chose not to pick either" matchup. But, the Chiefs are improving. The skins are not. After almost beating the Cowboys and not falling over vs the Giants, Chiefs push thru and win 21-10.
HOU @ CIN Paul Brown Stadium 1:00 PM
Texans still stink and the Bengals are the best team in their division. Coming off wins against the Steelers and the Ravens, the Bengals continue their winning ways. This time it won't take a 4th down conversion late in the 4th quarter to win. And they should even when by more than 3 points. Bengals win 28-14.
BAL @ MIN Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome 1:00 PM
This is definitely one of the better matchups this week. I just think at this point, Minnesota's defense is stronger than the Ravens. Vikings win 20-13.
DET @ GB Lambeau Field 1:00 PM
Packers bounce back after a couple tough losses. Lions hang in the game. Culpepper plays decent but Aaron Rodgers plays better. Packers win 31-24.
CLE @ PIT Heinz Field 1:00 PM
Steelers make it look easy vs the Browns. Big Ben has a Big Game. Steelers win big 38-10.
CAR @ TB Raymond James Stadium 1:00 PM
Tampa Bay looks pretty bad this season. Panthers don't look much better. Peppers is starting to heat up and this game is no different. Panthers win late on a DeAngelo williams run. Panthers 27-17.
NYG @ NO Superdome 1:00 PM
The Game of the Week. The Saints made the Jets look pretty bad a couple weeks ago when the Jets traveled to the Superdome. I don't think they will have as much look making the Giants look bad. Eli has a good game. Brees finally throws a few touchdown passes. But the difference will be how well the Saints stop the Giants two headed rushing attack in the fourth quarter. They don't. Giants win 30-27.
ARI @ SEA Qwest Field 4:05 PM
The Cardinals travel to the Northwest. Hasselback is back and playing great. Cardinals get a few quick scores, but the Seahawks come back and win 24-20.
PHI @ OAK Oakland Coliseum 4:05 PM
This game is no contest. The Eagles run circles around the Raiders. Eagles win big on the heels of another great game by McNabb 37-7.
BUF @ NYJ Giants Stadium 4:15 PM
The Bills travel to Giants Stadium to face the Jets. Mark Sanchez, Braylon Edwards, Thomas Jones, and company rebound after a couple tough losses to make the Bills look worse than they already are. T.O. does not score. Jets win 30-7.
TEN @ NE Gillette Stadium 4:15 PM
Titans continue down the path of the defeated season. Patriots win again. Vince Young gets substituted in and leads a couple successful drives, but it's not enough. Patriots win 30-20.
CHI @ ATL Georgia Dome 8:20 PM
Another great matchup this week. Sunday Night Football and I'm looking forward to it big time! Matt Ryan vs Jay Cutler. Michael Turner vs Matt Forte. Roddy White vs.... Hester? Curtis Lofton vs.... Briggs? Falcons go up big at halftime again. This time, the Bears do not bring out Grossman to start the second half. Falcons hold the lead and win 30-17.
Mon, Oct 19 Stadium Time (ET)
DEN @ SD Qualcomm Stadium 8:30 PM
Decent matchup of two teams. One of which I picked to win the Super Bowl, ther other I thought would be terrible. Now it's looking like the picks should have been reversed. The legend of Kyle Orton continues, even on the road. LT? Broncos do enough to win the game 24-20.
NFL Week 5 2009
Okay time to get some of my picks back on track and really take into account where these games are being played. Not that my picks have been bad, they haven't been... but last Sunday Night I kept really wondering why the heck I picked the Chargers to beat the Steelers. That was a dumb pick. Well that and listening to Fish on the Bills pick. Last time I do that too. So here we go...
Week 5
Sun, Oct 11 Stadium Time (ET)
CIN @ BAL M&T Bank Stadium 1:00 PM
No brainer right? Yes. Ravens rebound from tough loss to the Patriots and stick it to the Bengals where it hurts. I.e. The Mouth. Ravens run. Ravens pass. Palmer has a decentish game but it's not enough. Ravens win 27-13.
OAK @ NYG Giants Stadium 1:00 PM
Eli or no Eli, the Raiders have ZERO chance in this game. I'm partially interested to see exactly how awful JaMarcus is as I will be forced to watch this on TV carried by my local provider. I think Eli doesn't play. Raiders make Carr look like a true #1 pick. Jacods has a good day. NY WR's come back down to earth. Giants win 28-7.
TB @ PHI Lincoln Financial Field 1:00 PM
Eagles come back after a bye week with a healthy enough McNabb. They keep it straight and try not to get too cute getting Vick on the field. Bucs are one of these horrible teams and this weekend will be no different. Eagles win big 35-10.
MIN @ STL Edward Jones Dome 1:00 PM
Vikings against Rams and Favre and Peterson do it again. All Day Peterson only needs to play half this game. Favre looks young again. Especially facing these Rams. Greg "Whose That Guy" Lewis finds the end zone again, among other teammates. Vikings win 31-10.
CLE @ BUF Ralph Wilson Stadium 1:00 PM
Shoot. I wasn't going to pick the Bills this week cause I was about to jump off that train but who comes to town the Browns. I can't pick the Browns in this game. I remember the snow game from 2007 fondly as the Browns won that one 8-0. There won't be any snow this weekend at Ralph Wilson. Edwards forces a couple to T.O. cause he has to, a couple of them actually get there. Bills win 21-17. **update Fish says, don't pick the Bills... so this pick may actually work out this week**
PIT @ DET Ford Field 1:00 PM Tickets
Steelers win big. Not much else to say. Steelers 35-10.
WAS @ CAR Bank of America Stadium 1:00 PM
This week seems to be full of no brainers and teams facing each other that I refuse to pick. Here's a case of two teams that I would rather not pick at all except they are playing each other. I could go what's best for my team and have another loss for the Panthers or I could just take a gamble and say they might actually win this one. So since it's a home game and for not much more reasons, I gotta take Panthers. Panthers win 20-10.
DAL @ KC Arrowhead Stadium 1:00 PM
Does Dallas rebound vs the big play brandon marshall incident? Do the Chiefs actually win one? This could be a tough pick but I'm going to have to say the Cowboys pull it out. Barber and Choice play well enough to offset a few Romo mistakes. Cowboys win 27-10.
ATL @ SF Candlestick Park 4:05 PM
It's week 5 but I should probably say before we get too deep that I always pick my team to win. I won't ever divert from that. Okay, maybe I will. We have a rough schedule this season. Frankly, I'm a little nervous about the Niners. Always have been. I can't tell you how many times Jerry Rice gave me nightmares when I was a kid. He always lit it up against the Falcons. We were an NFC West team for a long long time. Too long if you ask me. However, this isn't your Dad's Niners. Yes, there defense is legit. Gore is injured, Coffee is not the same back. So, I'm going to give my guys the benefit of doubt. They've had an off week to recover from the game against the Pats. Ryan does well, Roddy White makes an appearance and the Falcons win 28-17.
HOU @ ARI University of Phoenix Stadium 4:15 PM
Cardinals show that the Texans are still not a legitimate contender. Fitzgerald has a good game. Cardinals win 34-10.
NE @ DEN Invesco Field at Mile High 4:15 PM
Apparently the game of the week as the Broncos take another stab at legitimacy. Unfortunately it doesn't happen quite this fast. Patriots win this game yet the Broncos hang in there and fight til the end. Kyle Orton is 17-2 in home games after all, so we gotta take that into consideration for what it is: impressive. McDaniels comes from the school of Billechek but it's not enough. Not yet. But I am having trouble picking this game... Patriots do enough to win 24-20.
JAC @ SEA Qwest Field 4:15 PM
Jags have looked better this season that expected. Seahawks will pull threw on this one though. Seneca Wallace will have a good game. Julius Jones will run well. Seahawks win 24-13.
IND @ TEN LP Field 8:20 PM
Titans will start the season 0-5. There is just no way I can possibly imagine them winning this game. Peyton is having his best season so far and that trend will continue. Colts win big 37-14.
Mon, Oct 12 Stadium Time (ET)
NYJ @ MIA Land Shark Stadium 8:30 PM
This could also be a tough game to pick. Dolphins are warming up. Henne is actually decent. But I think the Jets will bounce back from tough loss to Saints. Sanchez will play good. And maybe Thomas Jones will actually do something this week for my fantasy team. Jets win 27-20.
NFL Week 4 2009
Byes: Cardinals, Falcons, Panthers, Eagles
Okay so it's a bye week for my boys, but that doesn't mean I can't pick the rest of the games! Cardinals, Falcons, Panthers, and Eagles all have the week off and three of which will all by flying the coup while the 4th is planning to just bury their heads in the dirt. Don't worry Jake, you're still our starter! (For maybe 1 more week) Okay, onward.
Week 4
Sun, Oct 04 Stadium Time (ET)
TB @ WAS FedEx Field 1:00 PM
Jeez. What a bad game. Johnson is to start at QB for the Bucs this week. Do they pull it together or do the Redskins rebound from allowing the Lions to get their first victory in a long time. Bucs defense is just not very good. So I'm going to have to pick the Redskins by default. I gotta pick someone right? Portis is the difference and Cooley finds the endzone. Redskins 17-10.
TEN @ JAC Jacksonville Municipal Stadium 1:00 PM
Normally I would have picked the Titans in this matchup, at least a year ago. Apparently this year, they just stink. Jones-Drew has another good day and Garrard ends up looking like a pro-bowler. Even if Chris Johnson runs crazy, it's still not enough. LenDale gets stuffed at the Goal Line twice to end the game. Jaguars win 24-20.
OAK @ HOU Reliant Stadium 1:00 PM
Oakland continues to look weak. Texans continue to be iffy theirselves. Ashomauguata (sic) stops Johnson early, but Johnson comes up big later. Texans 21-10.
CIN @ CLE Cleveland Browns Stadium 1:00 PM
Derek Anderson gets the start and there are shades of the 100 point game from a few years back. But the early shades of offense slow as halftime comes. One team decides to quit in the second half causing the points to spread further apart. Ochocinco scores and sends a tweet from the football and subsequently gets fined again. Bengals win 31-17.
SEA @ IND Lucas Oil Stadium 1:00 PM
Don't think Hasselback will play, don't think it matters. Peyton starts slow but comes on strong in the second half. Strong enough to make the difference. Aaron Curry ends up looking like a rookie on a couple blown plays. Colts win 27-13.
NYG @ KC Arrowhead Stadium 1:00 PM
Oww. Ouch. Sorry Chiefs fans. This will not be that pretty. Well unless you like seeing a lot of Red in the stands. Eli continues to look like he's great. Jacobs has a big game but sits out the entire second half to rest his knees. Bradshaw runs for a buck 20 and gets a couple scores. Giants win 34-10.
DET @ CHI Soldier Field 1:00 PM
I hear rumblings that some people are actually picking the Lions to win this game. Are they serious? Cutler continues to try and make a believer out of you despite his sometimes erradic play. Hester runs a punt back. Bears win 24-13.
BAL @ NE Gillette Stadium 1:00 PM
Potentially the game of the week. Flacco ends up looking like Matt Ryan last week. Good but not good enough. The difference will be in how well each team handles the run. This is going to be close until the end. I'm going to have to go with Brady late, in that case with a late touchdown to Randy Moss. Still not so sure Welker will play this week. Patriots win late 24-17.
BUF @ MIA Land Shark Stadium 4:05 PM
Fish says Buffalo. He's a believer until the end. Fish also says T.O. will get 2 touchdowns and will still complain. But hey, those are the plays that were called. Hmm, do I trust Fish? He's a Bills fan. The question boils down to how well Henne will play and how many Wildcat plays the Dolphins run and how well the Bills contain them. I think they can. I billieve. Bills win 28-17.
NYJ @ NO Superdome 4:05 PM
Looks like the second best matchup of the week. Jets should do a better job of containing the Saints offense. I need a little evening out in the NFC South so I am going to pick the Jets here in my "upset" special of the week. Upset? Both teams are 3-0. Perhaps this week TJones and Washington will actually do something for my fantasy team as well. Hopefully. Jets win 31-27.
STL @ SF Candlestick Park 4:15 PM
49ers bounce back from the late loss to the Farvkings. Even with out Gore, the Rams will be sick of drinking Coffee by halftime. Are the Rams even an NFL team still at this point? 49ers win big and Shaun Hill looks great. 49ers win 37-10.
DAL @ DEN Invesco Field at Mile High 4:15 PM
I just can't see the Broncos going 4-0. Dallas will try to open up the playbook for Romo with some deep balls to Clayton and Williams. Unfortunately for them, Romo starts making mistakes and Bailey and Dawkins prove to be ultimately smarter than him. Not so sure Barber will play and Felix Jones might be out too. So what will I choose? Jeez. I guess the Broncos. Broncos win 24-16.
SD @ PIT Heinz Field 8:20 PM
Before the season started this would have been the game of the week. Unfortunately the Steelers haven't been able to shine and my super bowl pick the Chargers have looked kinda flat at times as well. Steelers figure out how to run the ball and Santonio only drops a couple. Who knows if LT will play or not. Sproles gets a bunch of touches and Rivers has a good game. Going with the Chargers winning this and knocking the Steelers down to 1-3. Can it be? Chargers win 31-21.
Mon, Oct 05 Stadium Time (ET)
GB @ MIN Hubert H. Humphrey Metrodome 8:30 PM
Intriguing but not as intriguing if it were MIN @ GB. Favre will play like he really really wants to win this game. Peterson will have a better day than last week. It's Monday Night. I can't pick against Favre. Rodgers will have a decent game, but AD is the difference. Vikings win 28-24.
NFL Week 3 2009
How I see these games playing out...
WEEK 3
Sunday, Sep. 27
Jacksonville at Houston 1:00 pm CBS - HD (Regional)
Houston wins. Jags defense struggles. Texans 30-13.
Tennessee at N.Y. Jets 1:00 pm CBS - HD (Regional)
Titans need to win a game and finally do. Sanchez comes slightly off his plane. Titans 24-20
Green Bay at St. Louis 1:00 pm FOX Regional
Packers rebound after disappointing loss at home to Bungles. Rams get dominated. Packers 34-13.
Washington at Detroit 1:00 pm FOX Regional
Uh oh. Will the Lions finally win a game? It's very possible. But until they do, I can predict they will. Redskins 17-10.
San Francisco at Minnesota 1:00 pm FOX Regional
Good matchup this week. 49ers come to play. A late touchdown by Peterson will be the difference. Vikings 28-20.
Atlanta at New England 1:00 pm FOX Regional
Patriots try to rebound from losing to rivals Jets. It doesn't happen. Falcons run wild and Tony G gets in the end zone. Falcons 28-13.
N.Y. Giants at Tampa Bay 1:00 pm FOX Regional
Giants also run all over Tampa. Eli plays another good game. Giants 27-10.
Cleveland at Baltimore 1:00 pm CBS - HD (Regional)
Baltimore continues to look for real by beating up on the lowly Browns. This version of the Browns decides NOT to stay in Baltimore any longer than necessary. Ravens 30-6.
Kansas City at Philadelphia 1:00 pm CBS - HD (Regional)
Will he or won't he. He does. Vick returns to the field for the first time in a long long time. Eagles win big 35-14.
Chicago at Seattle 4:05 pm FOX Regional
Bears rebound and travel to Seattle. Bears like the Northwest. Bears 24-13.
New Orleans at Buffalo 4:05 pm FOX Regional
Saints score a lot of points again. Edwards and the Bills do their best to hang, but Saints are still scoring a lot. Saints 40-27.
Pittsburgh at Cincinnati 4:15 pm CBS - HD (Regional)
Steelers beat up on the Bengals. Chad Johnson, wait who? Number 85 gets a couple deep ones, but Big Ben rallies late. Steelers 28-24.
Denver at Oakland 4:15 pm CBS - HD (Regional)
Broncos win again and the legend of Kyle Orton continues to grow another week. Broncos 24-17.
Miami at San Diego 4:15 pm CBS - HD (Regional)
San Diego contains the Wildcat. The Dolphins can't manage again in the 4th quarter to attempt comeback. Chargers 30-24.
Indianapolis at Arizona 8:20 pm NBC
Cardinals welcome the Colts in with welcome arms then cause an early turnover. It doesn't faze the Colts as they rebound quick. It turns into a shootout. Kurt Warner gets injured late. Colts 35-27.
Monday, Sep. 28
Game Time TV
Carolina at Dallas 8:30 pm ESPN
Dallas finally wins a game in the new Cowboys Stadium. Jerry Jones again counts folks standing outside watching the big screen as part of the attendance inside. Delhomme continues to struggle. Romo doesn't look much better. Cowboys 24-13.
NFL Week 2 2009
SUN SEP 20
Carolina at Atlanta 1:00 PM FOX Georgia Dome
Delhomme's struggles continue. Falcons defense looks even greater vs a weaker team. Matty Ryan shreds the Panthers secondary. Turner returns to normal. Falcons 31-10
Minnesota at Detroit 1:00 PM FOX Ford Field
AD continues where he left off. Favre makes 2 or 3 difference making plays. The difference isn't needed. Stafford continues to look like a rookie. Vikings 38-13
Cincinnati at Green Bay 1:00 PM CBS Lambeau Field
Bengals start strong scoring two early touchdowns. Rogers settles down and commands his weapons. Packers 34-17.
Houston at Tennessee 1:00 PM CBS LP Field
Houston sputtered vs the Jets and now they face an even tougher defense. It's not a good start to their season. Titans big 35-10.
Oakland at Kansas City 1:00 PM CBS Arrowhead Stadium
Oakland and Kansas City. Almost easier to pick who won't win. Neither team. Cassel still isn't quite back. The Raiders looked better against the Chargers last week. The Chiefs hung with the Ravens... but I got the Raiders here. Raiders 20-13.
New England at NY Jets 1:00 PM CBS Giants Stadium
This matchup is always hyped by the media, yet the Patriots have practically owned the Jets for a few years now. Brady shook the rust off. Now they plan to roll. Patriots 37-20.
New Orleans at Philadelphia 1:00 PM FOX Lincoln Financial Field
This could be the highest scoring game. The Eagles defense vs the Saints offense is one of the better matchups of the week. Even with Kolb at QB I still think the Eagles can squeak this one out, but I guess with money on the line I'm not gonna bet on this matchup so let's just take the Saints. Saints win 35-30.
St. Louis at Washington 1:00 PM FOX FedEx Field
Thankfully I won't be watching this matchup. The Rams are supposed to be getting better. The Skins have been supposedly getting better ever since trading Bailey for Portis. Both teams struggle. Yet 1 wins. I'll go with the Skins here if for nothing other than them being the Home team. Redskins 13-7.
Arizona at Jacksonville 1:00 PM FOX Jacksonville Stadium
Arizona tries to rebound after a pour first week. Jaguars daydream thinking about their future quarterback Tim Tebow. Cardinals win 28-17.
Tampa Bay at Buffalo 4:05 PM FOX Ralph Wilson Stadium
The Bills bounce back after a touch MNF opening loss. Where as the Patriots find a way to contain T.O the Bucs struggle. T.O. scores two big touchdowns in his first ever game at Orchard Park. The Cadillac stalls. Bills win 31-17.
Seattle at San Francisco 4:05 PM FOX Candlestick Park
I'm going with the 49ers here. They'll be better this season and will beat the Seahawks and Cardinals in tough division games this season. Gore runs for a buck 20 and scores a go ahead TD in the 4th. 49ers win 24-17.
Pittsburgh at Chicago 4:15 PM CBS Soldier Field
How will the Bears fare without Urlacher? How will the Steel City fare without Polomalu? That aside I think that Pittsburgh's offense is stronger than the Bears offense. I'll take the Steelers straight up. Steelers win 20-13.
Baltimore at San Diego 4:15 PM CBS Qualcomm Stadium
Is the Ravens defense that bad that they allowed the Chiefs to hang? Are the Chargers as bad as they looked vs the Raiders? More questions but soon answers. Chargers tweek it out at the end and win 24-20.
Cleveland at Denver 4:15 PM CBS Invesco Field at Mile High
The Legend of Kyle Orton grows as the Broncos win another game. That Orton, all he does is win. Broncos 24-13.
NY Giants at Dallas 8:20 PM NBC Cowboys Stadium
I'm not calling Vegas and betting on Jeff Feagles becoming the first punter to hit the video screen. The dude is 43. But I also don't think it will be Cowboys Punter Mat "The Page Kenney" McBriar. As for the game, Romo will try to win the first game at Cowboys Stadium and may even do so. But doesn't. Giants win late due to strong defense most of game and late mistakes by the 'boys. Giants 28-24.
MON SEP 21
Indianapolis at Miami 8:30 PM ESPN Land Shark Stadium
The Wildcat tries to rebound. The Colts defense allows them to. But it's Monday night and shades of the Colts vs Bucs MNF game a few years ago return as Peyton leads a fourth quarter comeback to upend the Dolphins. Colts win 34-30.
NFL Week 1 2009
Week 1 is always the HARDEST week to predict (for me).
TEN @ PIT
Big matchup here. LenDale stomping on the towel is all too familiar for the Steelers. It should be a pretty close matchup overall, but I still got the Steelers in a big defensive game. Steelers 24-17.
JAC @ IND
Always a good matchup. And even though I think the Colts will struggle a little this year (all new coaches), Manning is still Manning. Jags did not get any better in the offseason, just older. Colts got this 31-13.
DET @ NO
Saints roll in this one. Saints 35-10.
PHI @ CAR
Eagles will find the Panthers a little tough on the road. McNabb won't need to look over his shoulder this week. Westbrook is healthy at the beginning of the season and they do enough to tweek it out. Eagles 28-24.
MIN @ CLE
Quinn gets sacked 4 times, still develops no chemistry with the soldier Kellen Winslow. At halftime Mangini reminds him that Winslow was traded to Tampa Bay. Peterson runs wild for 180 and 3 touchdowns. Favre's incompetence won't matter. Vikings 34-13.
NYJ @ HOU
One of the closer games of the week. Texans have improved. Jets will be good still. Can Sanchez really win his opener? I'm going with no. Texans 28-21.
KC @ BAL
Chiefs struggle against the Ravens defense. Ravens spread the ball around offensively and have 3 guys run for 50 yards. Flacco doesn't make too many mistakes. Ravens 30-7.
DEN @ CIN
Denver struggles. The Bengals struggle. Ochocinco's "tweet surprise" leads to more fines. Cutler shaves his beard at halftime to see if that will make a difference. It does. Broncos 28-20.
MIA @ ATL
Falcons and Dolphins pull out all the stops. Falcons have some trouble defending the wildcat, but Dolphins have more trouble containing White and Turner. Falcons 24-13.
DAL @ TB
Cowboys try to prove they aren't horrible vs the Bucs. The Bucs start Leftwich and he's benched at halftime. Cowboys 30-10.
WAS @ NYG
Another good matchup here. Portis runs North and South all day, but not very much East and West. Giants defense is just too tough. Campbell eats a lot of grass. Giants 35-9.
SF @ ARI
49ers try to prove they are a good young team. And for a while they will in this game. Craptree watches from home and feels the itch. Kurt Warner proves he's still good. Cardinals 30-27.
STL @ SEA
Rams still stink but hang with the Seahawks until the 4th quarter. Hasselback still has a bit in him. Seahawks 27-20.
CHI @ GB
Okay, this is the matchup of the week. Bears defense remains tough. Aaron Rodgers remains good. Cutler tries. Rodgers has just enough weapons and decent passes to tweek this one out as well. Packers 20-13.
Monday Night
BUF @ NE
Brady is back. Brady throws wild. T.O. complains on the sidelines cause they are losing. Pats 35-10.
SD @ OAK
Chargers steamroll the Raiders. LT and Sproles run for 200 yards. Seymour never shows up. Raiders prove they aren't the worst team in the league by scoring 2 late touchdowns. Chargers 38-24.

Big Games Weekend
Packers vs Seahawks
I'm picking Seattle this week. Hasselback has matured. He's ready to win the coin toss and score. If Favre plays out of his mind, which in actuality is in his mind, then the Packers have a chance
Cowboys vs Giants
I don't see the Cowboys losing here, but the Giants have been hot. Either way, the Giants are done after this game and home fishing
Colts vs Chargers
No way Manning and the Colts have a repeat performance of their previous game against the Chargers this year (6 Interceptions, 2 missed Vinateri field goals, and they lose by 2) Colts win easily.
Patriots vs Jaguars
This should be a good game but I think the Patriots will punish them. It won't be close.
Time to compare my preseason predictions vs where we are right now in the season.

Picks I got right I put in Bold...
The only other chance I still have is if the Chargers beat the Cowboys in the SuperBowl... which I guess could still happen... but I'm thinking a Patriots vs Cowboys Super Bowl is far more likely
