Super Bowl 43
I'm going with the Cardinals. I did not think they could play to that magnitude 3 times in a row, and they did. So I have no reason to believe they can't do it 4 times in a row. I think their defense is good enough, Hines Ward is iffy, and their offense is just on top of it's game right now. Fitzgerald is a man among men. Pittsburgh's defense is great, but I think Kurt Warner and the Card's defense plays just good enough to beat them.
Arizona 24, Pittsburgh 17.
Plus, The thing is Pittsburgh is the safe pick. Of course they should win. They are Pittsburgh. If you pick Pittsburgh and they win, it's like.. no surprise. But if you pick Arizona and they win, you come off sounding smart. On a sidenote, I have one square. Arizona 7, Pittsburgh 8. so maybe something like 27-18, 28-27... not impossible. but not great.
Dog Eats Tickets

Sacked: Avondale dog chews up Super Bowl tickets
Carrie Watters, The Arizona Republic
Sometimes Alpo just doesn't cut it.
Buddy, a 3-year-old Labrador retriever opted for high-end snacks - two Super Bowl XLII tickets.
Face value: $900 each.
The mishap occurred Wednesday when Chris Gallagher requested that a courier leave the anticipated package under the doormat of his Avondale home.
The courier instead slipped the envelope under the front door.
Buddy accepted delivery.
He didn't sign, but he licked, mauled, chewed and swallowed portions of the coveted tickets.
They weren't his first victims. The black lab likes sunglasses, shoes and footballs too.
But the tickets go down as Buddy's most expensive chew toy, the remains emblazoned with the Vince Lombardi Trophy scattered across the living room floor.
When Gallagher walked in that night, Buddy zipped out the doggy door.
The dog would remain in the back yard for two nights afterward.
"He's a troublemaker," Gallagher said. "But he looks at you with those big eyes and you can't be mad for long."
Plus, Gallagher has gotten assurances from the seller that the tickets, which he'd gotten for friends, can be replaced.
Buddy was all tongue and friendly licks on Saturday, the mayhem created three days earlier long forgotten.
But the chowhound got his fill of the Super Bowl. He won't be allowed near a TV on game day, Gallagher said.
Tom Petty pics…
Okay so I'm thinking that Tom will most likely play 1 new song and maybe 2 old songs if he plays 3... (i'm not ruling out the possibility that he does like a couple minute medley of a bunch of songs but.... if he plays 2 old and 1 new... what do you think the 2 old ones will be...

What do you think?
Superbowl matchups?
so assuming for some reason the team I of course want to Go ALL the WAY and win everything for some reason doesn't happen to fullfill their quest the matchup I want to see is...
AFC -- Chargers
backup picks-- Bengals, Colts... (Titans, Jags)
NFC -- Bears/Saints
backup picks-- Cowboys/49ers?
Chargers are the best team overall. Tomlinson is my early pick for Super Bowl MVP! If the Bengals or Colts make it look for a ton of points.. Especially vs a team like the Saints.. I don't know if the Bears can survive the playoffs. Basically any team has a shot in the NFC .. well, any team has a shot in the AFC too.. the playoffs are going to be AWESOME this year..

Super Bowl, etc
Close game at the beginning
Seattle came out at the beginning of the game with a couple long drives including a field goal by Josh Brown and a bunch of catches early by Darrell Jackson. Matt Hasselback seemed to be throwing the ball well and the Seahawks were moving the ball. Seattle potentially scored a touchdown in the first quarter but Jackson was flagged for offensive interference. Even though I thought both players were touching each other, he did push off last to find space for the catch.
Pittsburgh was unable to produce anything and tied a record held by two other teams by not gaining a First Down at all in the first quarter. Eventually they were able to get a first down when Antawn Randel-El held on to a bobbled ball. Ben Roethlisberger was beginning to get a drive going but eventually threw in an interception.
Seattle didn't score again in the first half and Pittsburgh was able to score within the two minute warning before halftime by a left side quarterback sneak by Roethlisberger. He went up in the air and came down but didn't exactly appear to cross the goal line. The ref ran on to the field with one arm up and a few seconds later put the other arm up to signal a touchdown. The play was reviewed and the ref didn't change the ruling on the field due to lacking irrefutable evidence to overturn the call.
At halftime, I considered the game dominated by the Seahawks even though they were losing 7-3 on what a considered sorta a bullshit touchdown at the time. (later in time, I have accepted this touchdown)
Pittsburgh came running out of the gates in the second half. Willie Parker had the longest touchdown run in Super History as he scored on a 75 yard counter to the right. The score was then 14-3.
Pittsburgh drove again and threatened to score another touchdown when Seattle's backup Kelly Herndon made an interception and returned the ball 70+ yards for another Super Bowl long.
Seattle eventually scored a touchdown to make the game 14-10 and threatened on another drive to score again. Pittsburgh was able to make a critical interception on Hasselback and that's when the biggest play of the game occured... Fake-39 Toss X-Reverse Pass
The Gadget Play was Awesome
Pittsburgh ran these plays all season. I saw many of them. The two they ran in this game both worked. On the first one, Hines Ward scampered left to the outside for a first down on 15 yard run. That worked. On the second one, Roethlisberger pitched to to Parker who handed off to Randel-El (a college quarterback at Indiana U) then threw the prettiest pass of the night to Hines Ward. By far, this was The play of the Night!
Pittsburgh won 21-10. Jerome Bettis retired a champion in his hometown. Troy Polamalu was everywhere and anywhere on defense and I love that he lines up for the victory formation all season. Joey Porter backed up his words with his tough hard play on Jerramy Stevens. Roethlisberger had a crappy game but was able to become the youngest quarterback ever to win the Super Bowl at 23 yrs, 11 months. Seattle had the crappiest ever end of half time-management ever. Other than that, the game was so-so. Would have liked more touchdowns, or obviously seeing the Falcons in the game.
Super Bowl Prediction
Okay, I've waited this long for a reason. Here is my final prediction:
Steelers 27, Seahawks 20
….vs Seahawks
Super Bowl XL: Seattle vs Pittsburgh.
There's also many things to like with Seattle.
I think it's going to be a great matchup. I just hope it's a better game than the two played today.
Steelers vs…?
As the Steelers finish rolling over the Broncos and advance to Super Bowl XL in Detroit, there's lots to like with this team:
But anyway, they deserve to go. They are a good team. Now who will their opponent be?
